Following instructions on a related Stack Overflow issue (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19533528/installing-java-on-os-x-10-9-mavericks):
1. Install the correct version on Java http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?viewlocale=en_US
2. Set JAVA_HOME as instructed

Also, the readme file in the download version has instructions for Linux, Solaris & Windows, but not Mac. That's ok, but would be nice to call out that Mac is unsupported, or link to relevant documentation if you want to attempt install on Mac OS X.
