It depends on what your max upload is. You should limit your upload speed to about half of your max. So if your upload is 64KB/s (512kbps), then you should limit it to around 64KB/s / 2 = 32KB/s. Also, if you are behind a router, you should forward a port on your router with your mac, and set that port as your utorrent port, this definitely helps with all torrents.
